Zentangle Workshop
Embark on a journey filled with pen strokes and patterns. The Zentangle® Method is a fun, easy to learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create little pieces of art. If you can draw dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves, and orbs, you can Zentangle®. The Zentangle® Method may help you enjoy increased focus, creativity, self-confidence and an increased sense of well-being. It may also be used to relax your mind and conquer your stress. Ultimately, it’s just plain fun!
This weekend will provide a background in Zentangle®, introducing you to the basic steps and tools used. Over the weekend you will complete several small pieces of art. All levels are welcome from beginners to more experienced tanglers. Zentangle® was created by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts and is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc.
Led by Nancy Houghton, Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT39)
I have always been a person that doodled, in class, in meetings, talking on the phone, but never thought I would be able to draw anything that would be considered “art”. In 2016, I started to see these wonderful little pieces of art show up on my Pinterest feed. I was intrigued. In searching social media, I found “step-outs” for patterns, then videos that taught more patterns, I was hooked. This was an art form I could embrace. 15 minutes with a pen, pencil, blending stump and a small piece of paper and I could make a little piece of art. Finally, during the pandemic, I completed the Zentangle® certification course on-line and became a Certified Zentangle Teacher. At some point I have realized just how much I want to share my enthusiasm and passion for Zentangle®. This is an art form for all ages! Looking forward to sharing this with you.
