Isaiah 40: 25-31
Psalm 103: 1-10
Matthew 11: 28-30
Silence is the language of the soul. It is a nuanced expression of inner strength and resolve. In silence there is a profoundness, a sense of awe as it opens a doorway to the Divine. When He commanded, “Be still and know that I am God,” he was giving us a gift to help cultivate and reconnect with our faith. This call to stillness allows us to be open to trusting that He wishes to bring us hope and peace amidst our chaos and strife. He tells us, “Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
Our hope allows God a way into our lives. He renews his covenant with us through redemption and mercy. His steadfast love assures us that we do not wait in vain. His love is everlasting. On this day, as we celebrate the season of Advent, we are reminded of His most gracious act of love and redemption, the gift of his son. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.”
