Isaiah 11:1-10
Psalm 72:1-8
Luke 10:21-24
The peaceful Kingdom, as described in Isaiah 11:1-10, speaks to me of a time when all of us, God’s children, will dwell together with him, our loving Lord, in his peaceful kingdom – a kingdom which he has already prepared for us.
I imagine a garden, where we sow seeds that, hopefully, will overcome the effects of weather and adversity. In our hearts, we desire to have a beautiful garden; a garden that brings joy to our hearts, provides vegetables for our food, and places for our kids to chase beautiful butterflies. It is a garden of different shades of grass that survives soggy days and days of drought. We give the Lord thanks!
Even now on earth, we sow other seeds with hope and confidence that our work, witness, and prayer will touch the hearts of others.
I share a picture of God’s gentle dwelling within us. In our life’s moments, we give many soft praises to God. During the day or night when challenges confront us do we remember that there is a greater power to take on life’s challenges and take away our grief? Praise God. Praise his holy name.
Thank you, God, for the gift of your son, the Lord Jesus Christ! With this gift, there is hope that the garden – our world – shows the magnificence of God’s holiness, his cleansing of our souls to continue on our journey – loving him, listening to him, and obeying him.
