While popular carols sing of silent nights and serene managers, the common experience of contemporary Christmases typically involves some degree of stress, panic and frantic activity. Our most cheery time of year can also leave us the most weary, if not lonely and spiritually spent. Why not prepare for the coming of the Christ child with the genuine adoration fostered best by silence? Enter quietly the first days of Advent with a heart set on contemplative peace, which is God’s promise and our collective mission.
On this silent retreat, participants meet daily one-on-one with a trained spiritual director. They can also immerse themselves in the stream of communal prayer flowing from the Convent chapel. Ample time remains for reflection, reading, resting, artistic endeavours, and active, trustful waiting for “God-With-Us”.
