The Sisterhood of Saint John the Divine strives to provide an environment where anyone can build their spiritual strengths and deepen their contemplative spirit. Spiritual direction may be led by our in-house director, a Sister, or a guest.
All of our guest directors are trained, vetted and qualified for spiritual direction.
We are pleased to welcome our in-house spiritual director, Greg Kennedy, to join us on our next chapter with the Guest House.
Greg Kennedy
Once a Jesuit, Greg Kennedy was formed in the Ignatian lineage of discernment and imaginative prayer. Other wellsprings of spirit from which he regularly drinks are nature, poetry and music. Long grieved by human disregard of Earth, he believes that salvation cannot be uprooted from ecological sanity and solidarity. Existentialist by temperament but sunny by disposition, Greg seeks to balance looking hard at what is with walking gently towards what could be. He holds advanced degrees in philosophy and theology and is equally shaped by his informal studies and practices of other traditions complementary with Christianity. Greg has offered spiritual direction and instructed spiritual directors for over a decade and considers himself particularly blessed to be working with the Sisterhood of Saint John the Divine.
