SUMMARY:8-Day Silent Directed Retreat (July 30 - August 7)
DESCRIPTION:When it comes to retreats\, St. Ignatius of Loyola writes that “the more the soul finds itself alone and in silent seclusion\, the more apt it is to approach and be united with its Creator”. \nFor this reason\, many on the spiritual path set aside an entire week each year to prayerful\, unitive silence. What may at first sound daunting (eight days without talking!)\, soon becomes liberating\, invigorating and enlightening\, as retreatants settle into themselves and the quiet\, often unseen support of the sacred in their lives. \nAccompanying them on their unique\, surprising way is a trained spiritual director\, skilled in the arts of listening\, encouraging\, and questioning. Once a day\, retreatants release the silence to speak with their directors about what is unfolding. Together director and retreatant give shape to retreat time\, which can include prayer\, meditation\, rest\, reading\, walking\, artistic exploration and other nourishing activities enjoyed in silence. \nDaily Eucharist\, plus Morning and Evening Prayer with the Sisters are open to all retreatants. \nRetreat format: In person \nDate: July 30 – August 7\, 2026 \nRegistration Fee: Total is $1200 with a deposit of $300 (meals and accommodation inclusive). Apply up to six weeks before the registration deadline to receive early bird pricing of $200 off your total cost! \nRegistration Deadline: July 23\, 2026 \nLed by: Greg Kennedy \nArrival Time: between 2 and 4 PM on July 30 \nDepart: after 2:30 PM on August 7 \nPlease note: If you wish to attend a silent directed retreat but wish to stay for part of or a shorter time than the 8-Day Directed Retreats\, please contact the Guest House Manager to book a personal silent retreat.
